“A bride’s wedding night takes a sinister turn when her eccentric new in-laws force her to take part in a terrifying game.”

My third film on Day 11 of the Fantasia International Film Festival was the International Premiere of the US horror comedy Satanic Panic. The film had its World Premiere at The Overlook Film Festival in New Orleans, LA back in May and then went on to play in more US festivals in Dallas, Portland, and Chicago. In August, it has upcoming screenings at the Popcorn Frights Film Festival in Fort Lauderdale, FL, the Nevada City Film Festival in Nevada City, CA, the FrightFest in London, UK and then in October at the Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya in Sitges, Spain and last at the Grimmfest in Manchester, UK.

My only film on Day 9 of the Fantasia International Film Festival was the World Premiere of the US horror film The Wretched. The film is part of the Cheval Noir Competition, “Fantasia’s flagship juried competition, a global selection of varied genre works from new and established, groundbreaking and unconventional auteurs.”

First there was House of 1000 Corpses. Then there was The Devil’s Rejects. Now, from writer/director Rob Zombie comes the next blood-soaked chapter in the most violent crime saga in history… 3 From Hell

It’s Day 2 of the Fantasia International Film Festival and I started the evening with the Quebec Premiere of the Australian zombie comedy Little Monsters. It had its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in their Midnight Program back in January. It then went on to play at SXSW and the Calgary Underground Film Festival. The film was written and directed by Abe Forsythe and stars Lupita Nyong’o, Alexander England, and Josh Gad.

Logan Myerz survived his two biggest fears, Gators and Florida, in his review of Crawl. The film is chomping it’s way into theaters everywhere!

“A young woman, while attempting to save her father during a Category 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped in a flooding house and must fight for her life against alligators.”

Brightburn tries to present something that surprisingly hasn’t become a movie in this superhero-obsessed culture we now live in. What if Superman was evil? There’s a lot to do with this premise as villains are usually more interesting than the heroes in terms of their backstory and motivations. The movie follows Brandon Breyer, a seemingly perfectly behaved young boy who deals with new feelings and emotions when he turns 12 after he develops superpowers out of nowhere. Things get tense in the town as Brandon begins to cause trouble by attacking other people with his powers.

“Prepare to Meet Your New Best Friend.” Logan Myerz finds his new buddi and reviews the new ‘Child’s Play movie now playing in theaters.

“A mother gives her 13-year-old son a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.”

Global content leader Lionsgate and Saban Films are unleashing horror icon and heavy metal mastermind Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell, the follow-up to House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, as the next chapter in the blood-soaked crime saga. The film will be released in nearly 900 select movie theaters on September 16, 17 and 18, 2019 through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network (DBN). Fathom Events will broadcast the unrated version to theaters with each night featuring unique bonus content.

In 2019, the horror icon Chucky stars in this 2019 reboot movie and an upcoming SyFy network television series that connects to the original series. This is because two different studios (Orion Pictures and Universal) are battling for the rights of the franchise and character. However, this reimagining of Child’s Play is how you do a reimagining, reboot, etc.
