Cassie (Rosemarie DeWitt, La La Land) is a real estate agent and single mom struggling to keep it all together during the housing crisis of 2009. Her problems go from bad to worse when disgruntled client Sonny (Danny McBride, Pineapple Express) violently confronts Cassie’s boss and then kidnaps Cassie – making one outrageously bad, and bloody, decision after another. Things completely spiral out of control in this explosive action comedy, also starring Luke Wilson (Idiocracy), Kaitlin Olson (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), David Alan Grier (“The Carmichael Show”) and Elizabeth Gillies (“Dynasty”).

Even though I wasn’t born yet, I know that 1984 was a fantastic year that gave us classics that would later go on to become classic nostalgia. The year 1984 gave us a Schwarzenegger as a futuristic killing-machine cyborg hunting down anyone named Sarah Connor in The Terminator. The year 1984 also taught us that Gremlins can’t get wet, Molly Ringwald was the O.G. red-head babe before Jessica Chastain (sorry Jessica), and that counting after “five and six you better grab your crucifix” before a red-and-green striped sweater wearing serial killer haunts your dreams.

RLJE FILMS ACQUIRES “GALVESTON” STARRING ELLE FANNING AND BEN FOSTER!
RLJE Films has acquired all U.S. rights to the drama Galveston, which premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and has just been announced as part of the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Based on the novel “Galveston” by True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto, the film was directed by Mélanie Laurent (Breathe), written by Jim Hammett and stars Ben Foster (Hell or High Water), Elle Fanning (The Beguiled), Lili Reinhart (“Riverdale”), and Beau Bridges (“Homeland”). Tyler Davidson (Take Shelter) produced the film, with his company Low Spark Films providing sole financing and production services. RLJE Films plans to release Galveston in theaters this Fall.
