Whenever you think of Anna Kendrick, the words energetic and joyful come to mind.   Kendrick has made a career out of playing relatable characters with a sharp wit. In real life, she also projects being a ray of sunshine during countless television appearances.   As you can assume, as with any profession, the desire to step out of her comfort zone has probably crossed her mind. Alice Darling is the Oscar nominee’s dive into a serious drama. There are no cups, trolls, or acapella, just pure and genuine emotion. How does she do?

Global content leader Lionsgate announced today that it is partnering with Babe Nation Films, Elevation Pictures, and Castelletto Films on the upcoming psychological thriller Alice, Darling, which is now in production in Canada. The film, which stars Anna Kendrick, Wunmi Mosaku, Kaniehtiio Horn, and Charlie Carrick, is directed by Mary Nighy, written by Alanna Francis, produced by Katie Bird Nolan, Lindsay Tapscott, Christina Piovesan, and Noah Segal, and executive produced by Anna Kendrick and Sam Tipper-Hale.  The film is being made with the support of Ontario Creates and Urban Post.

Review – Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates is one of those movies I would’ve loved when I was younger and it was playing on Comedy Central on a rainy Sunday afternoon. It knows what it is and sometimes that’s good enough. It even has a really dependable cast for the most part and they were a big reason that I was curious about this. That and I couldn’t see Ghostbusters as it was packed at the time but it’s still a good substitute if you want to have some laughs. Some of the people providing those laughs are Adam DeVine and Zac Efron as Mike and Dave Stangle, two brothers who have a reputation for getting too out of control at their family get togethers.
