Halloween is around the corner and the horror genre is making a giant comeback with many independent films being released to larger theaters across the world. From the general consensus, horror is here to stay with many films and TV Shows using nostalgic elements to draw the audience in and never let them go. What makes these types of films compelling is the thought process, direction, practical effects, and originality. As a huge fan of this genre, I also really appreciate newer concepts and incorporating factual events into a film that will set itself apart from other movies that play it safe.

THE CURED – Premiere & After Party February 20th

IFC Films celebrated the Los Angeles Premiere of THE CURED on Tuesday, February 20th at AMC Sunset 5. The After Party was hosted at sbe’s Hyde Sunset in West Hollywood. Guests enjoyed specialty vodka cocktails by House of Carbonadi and cold brews by Peroni beer.  Music provided by DJ Lindsay Luv.

IFC Films will release THE CURED in Theaters and VOD on February 23rd.

Day of the Dead: Bloodline in Theaters/VOD on January 5th!

Saban Films will release the upcoming horror film DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE in Theaters, on VOD, and Digital HD on January 5, 2018.

DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE, a re-imagining of George A. Romero’s cult classic, stars Johnathon Schaech (“Legends of Tomorrow,” Prom Night), Sophie Skelton (Starz’s “Outlander,” 211), Marcus Vanco (“The Shannara Chronicles,” Unbroken) and Jeff Gum (The Forgiven, Primal).  The film was directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens (The Corpse of Anna Fritz) and was written by Mark Tonderai (House at the End of the Street, Hush) and Lars Jacobson (Baby Blues).

DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE is set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled world where a former med school student is tormented by a dark figure from her past. The only thing is, he’s a half-human, half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her world.

’31 Days of Horror’ Review – I Am Alone (2015)

Here we go again folks, another zombie flick, and another found footage film. A zombie film and a found footage horror flick may not tickle the fancy of a majority of horror fans anymore. I mean, what else can be done in the genres? It feels like we’ve seen it all when it comes to found footage and brain eating zombies.

I personally like zombie movies, and found footage does have a special place in my heart. But lately the two genres have not been doing it for me, and they do not enthuse me like they used to.  With that being said, I believe that director and co-writer Robert A. Palmer, co – writer Michael A. Weiss, and the rest of the crew at ‘Abstract Forces Productions’ will –

Have a special place in my heart because I Am Alone made me enthusiastic again, and is a refreshing flick that I’m glad I had the opportunity to check out.
