“Well, that movie was fucked up!”
That was the first thing that my friend said as the ending credits rolled on the screen. There is no denying that the new Nicolas Cage movie Mandy is a trip. It feels like a movie tailored to that over exuberant energy that we all have come to associate with the Academy Award winning actor. The question is, is it a trip worth taking?

Estranged sisters – Kate and Angie – haven’t spoken since Angie went to college and left Kate to care for their ailing father. In a show of reconciliation, several years after moving out, Angie invites Kate to her bachelorette party held at a remote house booked on a home-sharing app. The women are unaware that by booking this house, they’re walking into a trap set in motion by a disturbed family of amateur killers who are out for blood to right a cosmic wrong. They soon become unwitting participants in a savage and often ridiculous life-or-death struggle that pits family against family, and past against present.

Her problems go from bad to worse when disgruntled client Sonny (Danny McBride, Pineapple Express) violently confronts Cassie’s boss and then kidnaps Cassie – making one outrageously bad, and bloody, decision after another. Things completely spiral out of control in this explosive action comedy, also starring Luke Wilson (Idiocracy), Kaitlin Olson (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), David Alan Grier (“The Carmichael Show”) and Elizabeth Gillies (“Dynasty”).
Sony Pictures have released the second Venom trailer starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. The trailer premiered at the recent San Diego Comic Con and will be released on October 5th.
“When Eddie Brock acquires the powers of a symbiote, he will have to release his alter-ego “Venom” to save his life.”

Warner Bros. released the new trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters at San Diego Comic Con last weekend. The movie is directed by Michael Dougherty and will be released May 31, 2019.
