Chicago’s own 6th annual Juggernaut Sci Fi/Fantasy Film Festival (Day One)

The Juggernaut Film Festival is a weekend event celebrating Science Fiction and Fantasy films from around the world. It’s presented by Chicago’s Otherworld Theatre Company, whose mission is to further explore and promote the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre.

The festival prides itself for bringing together the community- from cinema enthusiasts, filmmakers,artists, and casual movie-goers alike- to encourage and support these new and innovative stories in the cinematic arts.

RLJE Films Acquire Housewife

RLJE Films, a brand of RLJ Entertainment (NASDAQ: RLJE), has acquired all North American rights to the horror film Housewife.  Directed by Can Evrenol (Baskin), who also co-wrote the film with Cem Özüduru, the film stars Clementine Poidatz (Shut-In) and David Sakurai (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald).  RLJE Films plans to release the film in the fall of 2018. Netflix renews OZARK for a Second Season!

Netflix has renewed the original series Ozark for Season 2, with 10 new episodes.

In Ozark, This money-centric present day story revolves around financial planner Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) and their family’s sudden relocation from the suburbs of Chicago to a summer resort community in the Missouri Ozarks. Rather than the familiar skyscrapers and trading floors, Ozark explores capitalism, family dynamics, and survival through the eyes of (anything but) ordinary Americans. For Ozark, executive producer and director is Jason Bateman, with executive producer/writer Chris Mundy, and executive producers Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams. The series is produced by Bateman’s Aggregate Films in association with Media Rights Capital for Netflix, and was created by Dubuque and Williams.
