Independent film making is its own art form in many ways. This includes counter parts involved such as the writers, directors, producers, crew members, visual team, and actors/actresses. It’s not about the money and the big budget that will sky rocket you to celebrity stardom, but more about doing what you love and building a memorable craft.  Ben Cresciman is an independent film maker that does it all and has a great outlook on making these films special. Ben is the writer and director in his newest film, Sun Choke, which won an award at the Knoxville Horror Film Fest in 2015. Ben crafted a unique cinematic experience that drives the audience into a trance with beautifully crafted scenes that use the camera work and lighting to it’s full potential on top of a dark story. Sun Choke is a film that takes you into the mind of Janie who is recovering from a psychotic breakdown and the relationships she has with her nanny, Irma and soon to be friend, Savanna.

It was my pleasure to sit down with Ben today to pick his brain on creating Sun Choke, his film-making process, and the tool kit he implements when making a character driven film.

EXCLUSIVE: Logan interviews “The Mind’s Eye” star John Speredakos!

Mind's+Eye

It’s rare to find a film that intrigues you and draws you back into the 1980’s when cinema was focused on story, acting, score, and practical effects. Joe Begos’ newest film “The Mind’s Eye” revisits the time when scripts were inventive, invigorating, and energizing. Today, I had the opportunity to interview the great John Speredakos who portrays Dr. Michael Slovak, the demented doctor that has a research facility who is studying people that have psychokinetic powers. John is no stranger to film and you may have recognized his work in the Ti West films “House of the Devil” and “The Innkeepers’ but he has portrayed characters in the horror genre for some time, but this is a new role that we have not seen in his film career. John Speredakos brings his best performance to date and it was my pleasure to sit down and interview him on his role in The Mind’s Eye.

EXCLUSIVE: Logan sits down with Ben Browder!

Screen Shot 2016-07-13 at 11.27.43 AM

The Sci-fi channel or as they call it today, SyFy, was a huge part of my childhood and teenage years.  Shows such as Farscape and Stargate SG-1 took my mind away from the normal everyday life into new and exciting galactic adventures that every fan like myself couldn’t stop watching. Ben Browder is one of the few actors that is able to transition into many different characters through television and film that really makes him a stand out actor and one to keep your eye on. I am not only a huge fan of his work, but I am also inspired by his project choices and his humble charisma. He is an actor that cares about his craft and works extremely hard to portray that in every project he is associated with.

Today, I get to sit down and talk with Ben about his newest film, Outlaws and Angels, a western film about outlaws that overrun an honest frontier family in New Mexico, and what can ensue when there is bloodshed.

Clownimage

When it comes to a horror films these days, we are filled with reboots and reimaginings of our favorite films, but every so often there is a film that makes a dent in the genre. Clowns have been interpreted in this genre as the ultimate antagonist that will haunt your dreams and never let you go. This entity has been portrayed in the film industry for many decades and is one thing that almost everyone can agree upon, which is the sheer terror that coincides with Clowns.  I am one of those people that has Coulrophobia (the fear of clowns). Director Jon Watts and Eli Roth put together a film that is not only extraordinary, but quite brilliant in it’s own sense. Clown is a film that focuses on the man I am interviewing today, Andy Powers, and the transition from a loving husband and father, to a possessed demon that feasts on young children.  If that isn’t traumatizing, I don’t know what is.  Today, I sat down with the veteran actor to talk about this film, the transition into this blood thirsty clown, and his upcoming work. You may recognize him from TV, film, or theatre, but this is a film that he should be recognized for the most and looked at for many years to come.  It is my pleasure to introduce Andy Powers!
