Review – The Flash (2023)

by Kevin Muller

After years in development, countless directors, and other factors, The Flash has finally arrived in theaters. This is one of the final films in old DC cinematic universe, which will reset in 2025, under the guidance of the new DC head James Gunn. Superman will be the first hero to fly in two years, along with other known and unknown heroes coming out of the gate. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like the speedster is going to be seen anytime soon. To hold us over to whenever the new Flash appears, we have Andy Muschietti’s epic multi-verse action spectacle. Is it slick adventure or does it stumble off track?

Se7en with Kevin – June Movie Reviews

Kevin is back to review the recent films that he watched in the ‘Se7en with Kevin’ series.

The Adam Project – 2.5 out of 5 – An interesting science-fiction premise quickly fizzles out. This is one expensive looking film that loses steam over the course of its run-time.   There are many great actors here whose abilities can’t elevate the unevenness of the direction and the messy script. If you are a fan of Ryan Reynolds’s constant quips, you will be entertained, if not, it is just another annoyance that the film provides.

Se7en with Kevin – April Movie Reviews

By Kevin Muller

1.  My Policeman – (2.5 out of 5) – The second movie in 2022 that starred musical sensation Harry Styles took a familiar story of a forbidden romance, this time two men in love, and creates one of the duller films of the year. It wasn’t a terrible film, but one that just felt like it existed with nothing that made it stand out. Kudos to Styles, who fully committed to the role and all that came with it. Unlike most musicians who try to cross over to the big screen, he can act. The cinematography was also beautiful to behold too.

Dungeons & Dragons is the ultimate test of skill amongst its followers.  Those same followers were let down with a crappy 2000 adaptation of the game. Now, it is getting a second chance with equal talent in front of the camera and behind it. Is this one a perfect dice role?

Se7en with Kevin – March Movie Reviews Part 2

1. Sonic 2 – (3 out of 5) – Everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog is back with two more characters from the beloved franchise, Tails and Knuckles. The sequel offers up more of what made the first one a smash. Ben Schwartz, who voices Sonic, has managed to make the furry little guy work so well on the big screen. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Jim Carrey, who annoyingly continues to chew the scenery around him.

By Kevin Muller

Whenever you think of Anna Kendrick, the words energetic and joyful come to mind.   Kendrick has made a career out of playing relatable characters with a sharp wit. In real life, she also projects being a ray of sunshine during countless television appearances.   As you can assume, as with any profession, the desire to step out of her comfort zone has probably crossed her mind. Alice Darling is the Oscar nominee’s dive into a serious drama. There are no cups, trolls, or acapella, just pure and genuine emotion. How does she do?
