“After a meteorite lands in the front yard of their farm, Nathan Gardner (Nicolas Cage) and his family find themselves battling a mutant extraterrestrial organism as it infects their minds and bodies, transforming their quiet rural life into a technicolor nightmare.”

We are in a point in history where people are at odds with the news media. While some people swear by CNN/MSNBC, others think that FOX News are the ones who tell the truth. Even our own President has weighed in by creating a catchphrase to describe his feelings about the news organizations. Back in 1996, an event happened that threw a good man through the ringer, and even though he came out clean, it changed his life until his death in 2007. It was a story of a misunderstood hero who was wrongly accused by the press and FBI. Hollywood legend, Clint Eastwood, has decided to bring this story to the big screen. Is it more like wonderful American Sniper or the mundane The 15:17 to Paris?

Having Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers is a great idea for a movie. In fact, it’s a surprise that having America’s most loved and friendliest movie star playing one of the best human beings to ever exist took this long to even happen. But from there, the work should already be done for you and you don’t have to try that hard. Director Marielle Heller, though, knows a cool idea isn’t always enough to maintain a movie. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood wisely decides to use what we know about the children’s TV show host, Fred Rogers, to create a character study focusing on how the incredible power he had on people could affect real change, even in one person.

It’s Star Wars week and we’re reviewing episodes 5, 6, and 7 of The Mandalorian and the new film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hitting theaters tonight.

On this episode of the Cinephellas Podcast, Henry Hill interviews the director and star of Mob Town, Danny Abeckaser. Danny was gracious enough to share his insight on making the film as well as talking about how he landed a role in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman. Mob Town tells the true story of the 1957 meeting of over a hundred mafia members in the small town of Apalachin in upstate New York. A state trooper played by David Arquette uncovers the meeting and helps coordinate a raid on it. Henry was able to watch a screener of the film, and while not on the level of a lot of other mob films, he found the film both entertaining and informational.
Saban Films released the thriller Mob Town in theaters, VOD, and Digital HD on December 13th, 2019!
